Our
hearts and prayers go out to the millions of citizens
killed, wounded and displaced by Hurricane Katrina
and the unprecedented chaotic aftermath that has
ensued. Where the corrupt U.S. government has
failed to aid these poor souls, it falls upon
the human community to show compassion. Please
take a moment to see if you can lend a helping
hand.

BIOGRAPHY
Bringing
Hip Hop and Rap from Portland, Oregon, artist
and producer Surefire (A.K.A. Michael Emery)
was born in Bridgeport, CT. where he was raised
by his mother and grandmother until they moved
to Portland. Oregon. With no father figure or
income coming in, Michael and his mother moved
from house to house all through his school years.
Although
he never took any music classes, Michael was
always seen
as a musical child who loved to sing and dance
for company or anyone else who would listen.
At the age of 9 Michael fell in love with Hip
Hop and Rap as a member of a breakin' group.
Influenced by his mom's James Brown and Beetles
collections, Michael found himself to be a fan
of all kinds of music.
By
the time Michael reached grade school, athletics
took over and it
wouldn't be until high school that he would
pick up a pen and begin writing Rap songs and
poems expressing how and what he felt at the
time. While all of his friends went to the local
public school, Michael (much to his dismay)
was sent 30 miles away every morning to study
at a private school. While this school was among
the best academically, it was filled with rich,
aristocratic kids with whom Michael could never
identify and often despised. Out of frustration,
he turned to his notepad to express these thoughts
and from there he has never looked back.
In
1991, Michael hooked up with Disiplin, at the
time a local DJ. They both were amazed at their
similarities in taste and became fast friends.
Through this friendship, with the support of
the crew they founded.
From then till now, Surefire and Disiplin have
made it their lifelong mission to be among the
top Hip Hop and Rap producers and recording
groups in the industry, supplying the people
of Portland, Oregon and Heads abroad with styles
and music unparalleled to anything before. Surefire
combines many styles into a culmination of songs
and lyrics ready and ripened for today's listener.
Touching on topics from the World Trade Organization
to sex in the city, Surefire's rhymes entertain
as well as broaden one's horizon.
